Greg Frey returning to Michigan coach staff

Former Michigan offensive line coach Greg Frey is returning to Ann Arbor as a member of Jim Harbaugh staff, taking over as the Wolverines’ tackles and tight ends coach and operating as running game coordinator.

Frey coached for three seasons previously at Michigan from 2008-10 under then head coach Rich Rodriguez, working to develop players such as David Molk and Stephen Schilling. He joined the Indiana staff in 2011 in the same role, becoming the co-offensive coordinator in 2014. As a member of the Hoosiers, Frey helped develop players such as Jason Spriggs.

Michigan offensive coordinator Tim Drevno will continue working with guards and centers, while tight ends coach Jay Harbaugh will shift to the running back position, taking the place of Tyrone Wheatley, who left to join the Jacksonville Jaguars.
