The Wolverines experimented with playing Zach Gentry at tight end in bowl practices, but at the time, it was unclear if that would stick or if he would return to quarterback. It now appears the move will be permanent.
“He’s going to go tight end,” confirmed Jim Harbaugh on Friday.
At the high school level, Gentry passed for 3,734 yards and rushed for 1,013 yards, earning four-star status as one of the top quarterbacks in the nation. But at 6-7, 244 pound in the fall, he has plenty of size to work at his new spot as well.
