FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- About a year ago, Don Brown took over as the Michigan defensive coordinator and he had a problem.
He needed another linebacker.
“I’m looking around going, ‘Who the hell is going to play?’” Brown said.
So he thought about moving Jabrill Peppers to linebacker.
What was Peppers' reaction?
Actually, Peppers’ reaction, or lack of a reaction, says everything.
“This is an important deal,” Brown said. “He could have looked at me and said, ‘Are you nuts? I’m 205 pounds and I’m going to play linebacker? Get outta here.’”
But he didn’t.
