The University of Michigan announced its awards for the 2017-18 season on Wednesday night. Deciding between Moritz Wagner and Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman for team MVP figured to be a tough decision. The team chose both.
Wagner, a junior, led Michigan in scoring (14.6 points per game) and rebounding (7.1). Abdur-Rahkman, a senior, was a steady force for the Wolverines all season, finishing with career highs in nearly every category: points (12.9), assists (3.9), and rebounds (3.2) among them.
Both players surpassed the 1,000 point plateau this season in leading Michigan to a school-record 33 wins, a Big Ten Tournament title, and a national championship appearance.
