On the eve of Michigan’s first matchup with USC since the mid-2000’s, the Wolverines sit at a pivot point for the 2024 season. Already with one loss on the record books, Michigan likely can’t afford to pick up a second just four games into the year. Changes needed to be made after three games, and Sherrone Moore did just that by benching Davis Warren in favor of Alex Orji.
Orji brings an entirely different skillset to the quarterback position than Davis Warren did. While Warren wasn’t exactly a statue in the backfield, he certainly wouldn’t have been described as a dual-threat quarterback.
