There’s no way around it: watching Texas stomp all over Michigan in the Big House on Saturday was painful. Even more than the final score, the sheer manner in which Texas dominated the trenches on both sides of the ball made Saturday an unpleasant afternoon.
However, the Michigan Wolverines are still the defending national champions. I just checked and, yup, that’s still really fun to say. Every team’s honeymoon period is different, and deservingly so. Every fan’s experience is also different, so I can only speak for myself here.
Losing Saturday didn’t hurt nearly as bad as it used to/could have.
