Michigan freshman tailback Chris Evans didn’t get all of the scholarship offers he wanted in high school. Indianapolis Ben Davis football coach Mike Kirschner felt likewise.
“I was trying to tell schools down south -- the SEC -- how good this kid is,” Kirschner told the Free Press this week. “They thought he was undersized and not really SEC material. Now I’m talking to them, and they’re like, ‘Well, we kind of missed on that one.’ I said, ‘Kind of?’"
Evans (5-feet-11, 200 pounds) was rated a three-star recruit by Rivals and ESPN.
