Each Friday, MGoBlue.com will profile one of six freshmen leading up to the Michigan ice hockey exhibition opener on Oct. 4 against the University of Toronto at Yost Ice Arena. Today's (Friday, Aug. 21) first installment of Michigan Hockey Freshman Focus features Nicholas Boka. A local product out of neighboring Plymouth, Michigan, Boka played in the United States National Team Development Program for the past two seasons. One of the team's steady defensemen, Boka helped Team USA win gold with a 2-1 (OT) win over Finland at the Under-18 World Championships in Switzerland in April, capping off a standout junior hockey career.
