INDIANAPOLIS — A little more than three months ago, Michigan basketball associate head coach Phil Martelli participated in a Zoom call with the media from the front seat of his car.
At that point, the Wolverines had lost three of their first seven games, including a pair of blowouts against Arizona and North Carolina. Martelli was asked about a variety of topics ranging from the erratic play of graduate transfer DeVante’ Jones to how U-M planned to get center Hunter Dickinson the ball when teams collapsed in the paint.
