Michigan has been interested in 2022 four-star quarterback Justyn Martin since this spring. Michigan offered Martin in late May, but committed to Cal shortly after. However, Martin announced on Tuesday that he has decommitted from Cal and his recruitment is “100% open”.
The 6-foot-4 Inglewood, California QB told Maize n Brew that Michigan got in touch with him shortly after announcing he decommitted from Cal. Quarterbacks coach Matt Weiss reached out to Martin.
“Coach Weiss talked to me today, just looking forward to getting me back up there. The staff has been in contact with my coach as well,” Martin said, adding “he was quick to text me so I’m thinking they are really serious about me.
