Michigan basketball received some good news on Thursday night.
Point guard Dug McDaniel committed to the Wolverines, becoming the first member of U-M's 2022 recruiting class shortly after officially visiting Ann Arbor earlier this week.
McDaniel, who plays for St. Paul IV Catholic High School in Chantilly, Virginia, is ranked as a four-star prospect. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, he is the No. 83 overall recruit and the No. 14 point guard.
McDaniel also held offers from Florida, LSU and Penn State, among others. He reported an offer from Michigan last summer on June 18.
