In 2013, then-Michigan assistant coach LaVall Jordan was a finalist for his dream job as Butler's head coach.
He wasn't selected. But four years later, he was finally hired.
Butler announced Jordan as its new head coach Monday night, replacing Chris Holtmann, who took the Ohio State job.
Jordan returns to his alma mater, the school he helped build into prominence as a player and assistant coach before leaving to gain different experiences on the bench at Iowa, Michigan and last season as Milwaukee's head coach.
"This is a dream come true," Jordan said in the school's release.
