The Michigan Wolverines have added a new member to the football team with an interesting backstory. MLive’s Aaron McMann was the first to report on Monday morning that former Michigan State linebacker Edward Warinner has transferred to Ann Arbor.
If that name sounds familiar, well, it is. Warinner is the son of Michigan offensive line coach Ed Warriner, who is entering his third season with the program.
The younger Warinner was a three-star prospect in the class of 2018 and chose to go play for Mark Dantonio and the Spartans. He played in seven games this past season in East Lansing while primarily playing special teams.
