It’s not too often that a college athlete completely switches sports with success. Surprisingly enough, two former Michigan Wolverines have done exactly that. Mitch McGary, the former big man who led the Michigan Basketball team to the Final Four in 2013, and Sam McGuffie, the super athletic running back from 2008 are now competing in different sports. Not only are the sports different, they are also pretty peculiar for a former basketball and football player.
Following McGary’s short-lived NBA career, the 6’11” 255 pound monster decided to hit the lanes. He is now a competitive bowler in a sanctioned league, meaning he could eventually qualify for the PBA (Professional Bowlers Association) and become a pro.
