Another former Michigan Wolverine is heading back to the program.
James Ross III, a former Michigan linebacker, is returning to Ann Arbor to become a defensive assistant coach on Jim Harbaugh’s staff, he announced on Twitter today.
Ross III is the third former Michigan player to join the coaching staff in the past week, with former wide receiver Roy Roundtree and former linebacker Allen Gant also coming back to Ann Arbor.
His playing career at Michigan began in 2012 during his true freshman season. Ross III compiled 187 total tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery and 1 pass defended in his four-year career.
