One glance at the Michigan High School Athletic Association baseball record book and there is one name at the top of numerous career state batting records – Drew Henson.
The prep career at Brighton was that dominant for Henson, who also starred in football and basketball.
Henson, who later was in a quarterback battle with Tom Brady at Michigan football, is arguably one of the best high school athletes in the state’s history. And his success on the diamond included finishing with state career records in hits (257), doubles (68), home runs (70), grand slams (10), RBIs (290) and walks (129) while batting .
