After four years proving himself in the Michigan football program, former walk-on safety Jordan Kovacs went undrafted in the 2013 NFL draft.
So after walking on the Michigan football team in 2008—it took two tryouts—redshirting, and then being named to the Sporting News Freshman All-American team the very next season, Kovacs had to revisit his rags-to-riches game plan and make it work in the NFL.
The Miami Dolphins signed Kovacs as an undrafted free agent following the 2013 draft, and that’s where he spent his first three years in the league. In that time he played sparingly on defense and special teams, recording 11 tackles and one sack in 28 games played.
