Michigan basketball waited all day for the commitment of five-star mega-recruit Josh Christopher.
When he finally made his decision just before midnight Tuesday, it wasn’t the outcome the Wolverines hoped for.
Christopher picked Arizona State over Michigan, joining his brother Caleb at ASU and ending a drawn-out recruitment that began when Juwan Howard offered him in June of 2019.
It was the first scholarship offer Howard made as head coach and kick-started a nearly year-long pursuit of Christopher, one of the top prospects in the nation.
But the Wolverines ended up just short, despite holding pole position for a sizable duration of Christopher’s recruitment.
