Ann Arbor — One marquee matchup after another this season, Michigan has come up short.
It happened against Virginia in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. It happened in neutral-site contests against Kentucky and North Carolina. It happened in the rivalry game at Michigan State.
In its biggest game yet, it happened once again Thursday night as Michigan couldn’t recover from a first-half flurry and couldn’t slow down No. 1 Purdue in a 75-70 loss at a packed Crisler Center.
“It definitely felt like another one of those frustrating losses where just a couple more bounces here and there, a couple timely 3s that they hit didn't go in, we'd be sitting with a ‘W’ right now,” said junior center Hunter Dickinson, who finished with 21 points and seven rebounds.
