A month ago, Shea Patterson wasn’t even sure he’d be able to play for Michigan in 2018. Now cleared by the NCAA for immediate eligibility following his transfer from Ole Miss, it’s still not a certainty he will be the Wolverines’ starting quarterback.
Yet, this week, the folks at NFL.com heaped some pretty grand expectations on Patterson.
College football writer Chase Goodbread listed him No. 3 out of 18 candidates for the 2018 Heisman Trophy.
“When the NCAA officially cleared Patterson for immediate eligibility a few weeks ago, following a transfer from Ole Miss, his Heisman candidacy was cleared for takeoff, as well,” Goodbread wrote.
