ANN ARBOR -- Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh has added another member to his staff with NFL experience.
Earlier this year, the Wolverines welcomed back former safety -- and NFL player -- Jordan Kovacs to work with the program as a coaching intern.
Now, the Wolverines have added another person in a similar capacity: Former NFL running back Alfonso Smith is now working with Michigan as a coaching intern, per a team spokesman.
Smith -- a former Kentucky standout -- played with the Arizona Cardinals and the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL. His lone year with the 49ers was Harbaugh's final season in San Francisco (2014).
