Former Michigan tight end Tyrone Wheatley Jr. will play at Stony Brook this season.
Prior to the start of fall camp last week, Wheatley told the Michigan staff he planned to transfer after three years inside the program. Stony Brook announced him as a member of its roster Sunday.
The Seawolves play out of the Colonial Athletic Conference in the NCAA's Football Championship Subdivision. As a result of dropping from the Football Bowl Subdivision to the FCS, Wheatley will be eligible to play immediately.
