Mike McCray is retiring from football.
The former Michigan linebacker took to social media on Tuesday with a lengthy letter announcing his decision to hang it up.
"For some time now, I have been playing the game of football for the wrong reasons, and during this time I sacrificed my happiness and my well being," wrote McCray, who was signed by the NFL's Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in May.
"I want to encourage those reading this to do what feels good on the inside and not what looks good on the outside."
