A new NCAA rule prohibiting college football coaches from blocking transfers from potential schools has been lifted, and a former Michigan linebacker is taking full advantage of it.
Drew Singleton, who made his intentions known in October that he planned on transferring from Michigan, is staying in the Big Ten.
The 6-foot-2, 219-pound linebacker announced Sunday night that he is transferring to Rutgers, to play for head coach Chris Ash. After sitting out a season, he will have two years of eligibility remaining.
"I would like to thank the University of Michigan and Coach Harbaugh and the rest of the organization for allowing me to be part of their program," Singleton wrote, in part, in a note published on Twitter.
