'Everything has paid off' as ex-Michigan star Brandon Graham readies for Super Bowl LII

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Jim Schwartz was coaching the Senior Bowl in 2010 when he told his staff he had a $500 prize for anyone who correctly picked the MVP of the game, with one stipulation: He got first pick.

Schwartz, then the Detroit Lions coach, made Michigan defensive end Brandon Graham his choice, and Graham delivered a five-tackle, two-sack, forced-fumble performance in the game that Schwartz says now “saved me $500.”

“He’s tough as can be,” Schwartz said. “He’s hard to handle in the run game, he’s hard to handle in the pass game. Plays with a lot of energy.
