Michigan’s loss could be Auburn’s gain.
Cornerback Blake Countess, who started 10 games last season at Michigan before heading to Auburn this season as a graduate transfer, is one of eight transfers ESPN’s Grantland site lists as “old faces in new places” who could make a difference this season.
Countess’ best season in Ann Arbor came in 2013, when he had six interceptions and was a first-team Big Ten selection by the media. He didn’t record an interception last season, and had three passes defensed.
Still, Grantland’s Matt Borcas says Countess, along with fellow secondary transfer Tray Matthews, could be big additions for the Tigers.
