Robert Lee isn't related to that Robert E. Lee.
So in the attempt to avoid another Deadspin headline, ESPN went the proactive route, removing the Asian-American broadcaster with the same name as the Confederate general from his planned assignment.

Lee was supposed to call Virginia-William & Mary on Sept. 2 in Charlottesville. But he's been removed from that assignment for safety reasons, according to the network.
"We collectively made the decision with Robert to switch games as the tragic events in Charlottesville were unfolding, simply because of the coincidence of his name," ESPN said in a statement.
