ANN ARBOR -- Armed with a stat sheet in his left hand and visual proof on film, Ed Warinner stood in front of reporters on Wednesday a pleased man.
Sacks were down. Penalties had been cut. Michigan's offensive line, in his mind, is making strides.
A year ago at this time, Michigan had already lost its starting quarterback to a serious spinal injury and sacks were beginning to pile up.
Five games into the 2018 season, tangible improvement is beginning to peek through.
"Just overall, if you look at the sacks, I wouldn't say that's (all) on the offensive line," said Warinner, Michigan's first-year offensive line coach.
