Since word got out two weeks ago that Tim Drevno would no longer continue as the Wolverines’ offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, expectations were high that Ed Warinner would inherit the role of developing the group up front. On Thursday afternoon, Warinner was officially announced as Michigan’s new offensive line coach.
In the coaching ranks since 1984, Warinner worked specifically with offensive linemen 21 seasons, including at Army, Kansas, Illinois, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Minnesota. He joined the Michigan staff in December as a senior offensive analyst.
Over the course of his career, Warinner has also worked with quarterbacks, running backs, linebackers and defensive backs, holding down an offensive coordinator or running game coordinator at several stops.
