ANN ARBOR -- Dylan McCaffrey appears to have risen to No. 2 in Michigan's quarterback depth chart.
McCaffrey followed Shea Patterson in Michigan's 49-3 rout of Western Michigan on Saturday, the second straight week he's appeared in backup duties.
The only difference this time, though, is that redshirt sophomore Brandon Peters -- who started four games for Michigan in 2017 -- also played. And he was third.
"He did good," head coach Jim Harbaugh said of McCaffrey's outing, which saw him throw an 18-yard touchdown pass to walk-on receiver Jake McCurry, his one and only attempt.
