Although West Bloomfield’s Donovan Edwards is the center of attention on offense, the Lakers’ defense is not too shabby.
In its 41-0 triumph Saturday at Detroit’s Ford Field over defending champion Davison, West Bloomfield created two turnovers that led to scores while forcing a shutout.
Junior linebacker Kyle Johnson recovered a fumble that led to West Bloomfield’s first touchdown, a 78-yard jaunt by the Michigan football signee Edwards.
Grand Valley State commit Niles King then stripped Davison running back Jay’len Flowers of the ball and raced 39 yards to make it 24-0 early in the third quarter.
