ANN ARBOR -- Michigan football may have only practiced once so far this spring in pads, but Don Brown isn't laying off the praise.
In fact, the Wolverines' defensive coordinator did his best to lay out the red carpet on Tuesday.
"I've been doing this a long time," Brown said. "If not the fastest, one of the fastest groups I've ever been around. I'm pretty excited about it."
Michigan returns nine of its 11 starters on defense from a season ago, one in which it finished 8-5 but relied on its defense to stay in games.
