INDIANAPOLIS — Michigan basketball point guard DeVante’ Jones's status remains unclear ahead of Saturday’s second-round NCAA tournament game against No. 3 Tennessee, but things are trending in the right direction for a potential return.
Jones, who missed U-M’s win over Colorado State with a concussion, traveled to Indianapolis and joined his teammates for a closed-door practice at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Friday afternoon. He will be a game-time decision against the Volunteers.
“DeVante’ was out there for practice, got out there, got a little lather,” coach Juwan Howard said. “I will be on my knees tonight praying he will hopefully be ready to go because we’re going to need all hands on deck.
