Detroit Mercy has its next basketball coach. And he's a familiar face.
Bacari Alexander, a former Titans player and assistant coach, is expected to be the next head coach, needing only to work out the final contract numbers, according to multiple people with knowledge of the negotiations. He is expected to receive a seven-year deal that will pay between $450,000 and $475,000 per year, according to one person familiar with the negotiations.
UDM announced in a release this morning that it will introduce its new coach at a news conference at 11 a.m. Friday, though it did not name Alexander.
