Detroit Pistons to open training camp on University of Michigan campus

The Detroit Pistons will begin officially preparing for the 2018-19 season with a new head coach.

And, in a new location.

Free Press sports writer Vince Ellis tweeted on Thursday that the Pistons will open camp on the campus of the University of Michigan. That first week of camp will include workouts at Crisler Center and at U-M basketball's Player Development Center. The team will also stay in Ann Arbor.

Dwane Casey begins his tenure as Pistons head coach after a Coach of the Year campaign in Toronto that ended with a sweep out of the playoffs and his subsequent firing.
