Glenn Robinson III’s injury-marred season came at inopportune time.
It appears the Detroit Pistons are betting that he can recapture the form that made him a top-notch bench performer for the Indiana Pacers in 2016-17.
Two sources told the Free Press on Sunday that the Pistons have reached a two-year agreement with the former Michigan player on the first day of the league’s annual free agency moratorium.
The deal is worth $8.3 million, with a team option of $4.3 million for the second season.
Players can’t sign agreements until noon Friday. A source told the Free Press that Robinson, 24, was a top target among the group of small forwards available.
