Before the season, Desmond Howard said he was wondering what Michigan would look like if they could assume a physical presence.
Six games in, the Wolverines have exceeded his expectations.
"They're definitely a much more physical team," he said today. "I think their whole mentality has changed. Teams at some point normally adopt some aspect of the personality of their head coach. I think as far as that's concerned, I think Michigan is ahead of schedule of adopting an aspect of the personality of coach (Jim) Harbaugh. We all know his teams when they are Harbaugh-coached teams, at the core, there's some semblance of physicality and toughness.
