The Big Ten Conference just announced their conference basketball awards, where a trio of Wolverines were honored for their performances in 2016-17.
Derrick Walton, who was arguably snubbed from being named a first team All-Big Ten performer, was named to the conference’s second team at point guard. Zak Irvin and Moritz Wagner were honorable mentions.
Walton averaged 14.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game in conference play while leading Michigan to a 10-8 record in the process. He was able to put the Wolverines on his back down the stretch after a bumpy start to the season with questions abound about the future of the program.
