Former Michigan point guard Derrick Walton, Jr. has a new home. Walton's agent, Mark Bartelstein, confirmed to MLive that the second-year pro has signed with the NBA's Chicago Bulls.
Bartelstein said it was a "standard," one-year contract. Last season, Walton played with the Miami Heat on a two-way contract, meaning he shuttled between Miami and the franchise's G-League affiliate in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The undrafted point guard played 27 games in the G-League, averaging 16.1 points and 7.1 assists. He appeared in 16 games with the Heat. Walton played for Miami's Summer League team in July but the Heat did not renew his deal, thus making him an unrestricted free agent.
