DIMONDALE — The NBA Summer League was full of ups and downs for former University of Michigan basketball player Derrick Walton Jr.
At the end of June, the Miami Heat — who Walton played for last season and in the summer league — extended him a qualifying offer for a two-way contract (playing for both the Heat and their G League team).
