WASHINGTON D.C. -- The were two teams, two bands, two groups of cheerleaders, three refs and 15,000 or so fans at Verizon Center on Saturday.
But there was only one Derrick Walton Jr.
And he played for Michigan.
And now the Wolverines are going to the Big Ten title game.
In a masterful second-half performance, Walton scored 11 of 14 points in a game-defining 14-6 run that pushed Michigan to an 84-77 win over Minnesota in the Big Ten semifinals.
Walton finished with a game-high and career-high 29 points with nine assists and four rebounds.
