Almost every aspect of the game at Minnesota had been a positive for most of the night for the Michigan Wolverines, but it did come at the cost of losing one of their better players. According to the radio broadcast, sophomore safety Daxton Hill left the game to be evaluated for an undisclosed injury.

Hill started the game at free safety and was replaced in the lineup by true freshman Makari Paige. His loss was immediately felt as the Minnesota offense started to have some success going down the field.

The Wolverines defense had some issues here and there in the passing game on Saturday night, but the run defense was also a bit of a concern.
