In the late hours of Thursday night, Juwan Howard filled the first spot of Michigan’s 2022 recruiting class when four-star point guard Dug McDaniel committed to the Wolverines.
At 5-foot-10, 155 pounds, McDaniel checks in at No. 86 in the 247Sports composite rankings. He hails from the DMV area, which continues to emerge as a pipeline for Michigan. McDaniel, Terrance Williams and Hunter Dickinson all played high school basketball in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference — one of the most competitive leagues in all of high school basketball.
For McDaniel, that DMV connection was a major draw.
