Just one day after Michigan softball pitcher Meghan Beaubien tossed a no-hitter in the NCAA regional opener against Seattle University, the Wolverines had a quick turnaround to play against the No. 16 seeded Washington Huskies.
The game was scoreless heading into the sixth inning when Michigan’s Lou Allan and Taylor Bump hit back-to-back solo homers to give the Wolverines the 2-0 lead. But in the bottom portion of the inning, Washington managed a solo shot of its own, cutting the lead to 2-1.
But after that solo shot in the sixth, Michigan starting pitcher Alex Storako closed it out in the seventh to preserve the complete game victory for the Wolverines.
