Michigan's defense looked vulnerable for the first time last weekend.
And defensive coordinator Don Brown is willing to take the blame for Colorado's 195 first-quarter yards and, later, a 70-yard passing touchdown.
While the Wolverines played the final three quarters at a high level -- except for the 70-yard pass -- Brown saw a lot to improve after the 45-28 win. But with a third straight up-tempo spread team coming this week in Penn State (3:30 p.m., ABC), he intends to keep his defense on the offensive.
He cited today the 23 knockdowns of Colorado quarterbacks -- perhaps as many as he has had in his long career -- and the ability to take the Buffaloes out of their high tempo after the explosive start.
