ANN ARBOR -- Jim Harbaugh answered the question honestly after his team's season-opening loss to Notre Dame.
With a new quarterback, a young offensive line and still-budding receiving corps, Michigan was at the very beginning of trying to find an identity for its offense.
Three games in, that identity is still a work in progress.
"The first game, we were kind of half and half," said starting right guard Michael Onwenu, a junior. "The second game, we focused more on run. This previous game, we focused more on pass."
Michigan's 45-20 win over Southern Methodist on Saturday forced it to improvise a little more than planned.
