Couch: With blood in the water, this is a program month for Michigan State football

Michigan State has done what had to be done after Saturday’s violent skirmish in the tunnel at Michigan Stadium. Acted swiftly and decisively based on the evidence at hand. The same evidence you and I have. Some of it concrete. Some of it incomplete. Just video. No interrogations. That’s being left to police, per their request.

Several MSU football players played various roles in the altercation. That is indisputable. MSU football coach Mel Tucker and athletic director Alan Haller haven’t publicly laid blame anywhere but at the feet of their own players, eight of whom are suspended. Not all eight share the same culpability or are likely to face the same length of suspensions.
