ROSEMONT, Ill. -- University of Michigan ice hockey freshman forward Kyle Connor was named Big Ten First Star of the Week and senior forward Justin Selman was named Third Star of the Week today (Tuesday, Oct. 20). Both Connor (3G, A) and Selman (A) had points in each of Michigan's wins this past weekend against Mercyhurst, helping the Wolverines get off to a 2-0 start to the season.
Connor had a prolific debut weekend in two games against Mercyhurst. In the season opener on Friday night, Connor (2G, A) had the most points by a Michigan freshman in his debut since Jason Ryznar had three points (G, 2A) in his debut in the Cold War at Spartan Stadium on Oct.
