Cold second-half shooting costs Michigan in rematch with Wildcats

ROSEMONT, Ill. -- Unable to find a third scoring option and hampered by a second-half shooting slump, Michigan was unable to beat Northwestern for the second time in a little more than a week, falling 61-52 at Allstate Arena Tuesday.

Moritz Wagner scored 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting, Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman had 11, and no other Wolverine scored more than six.

Unlike in the first meeting, a 58-47 Michigan win at Crisler Center last Monday, the Wolverines attacked Northwestern's zone effectively early. But they made just 5-of-20 shots in the second half, including 1-of-10 from 3.

Michigan leaves Northwestern's temporary home with 19-7 record (8-5 in the Big Ten) and an injured player.
