ANN ARBOR -- The invitation was extended and accepted in June. A date was tentatively chosen in August. And on Monday, Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh confirmed that former U-M basketball star Chris Webber will be in Ann Arbor to serve as the honorary captain for Saturday's football game against Penn State.
Webber, as a member of the Fab Five, led Michigan to national championship appearances in 1992 and 1993, his two seasons at the school. He was the No. 1 overall pick in the 1993 NBA draft. Webber was an All Star in five of his 15 seasons in the league.
